Travel & Tourism Economic Impact 


Travel and tourism significantly boost the Huntsville/Madison County economy, and we are a proud supporter of the local hospitality industry that provides a better quality of life for residents and visitors.

According to the latest report from the Alabama Tourism Department, travel and tourism to Huntsville/Madison County increased by 5.3% in 2022. Over the past year, Madison County brought in 3.9 million visitors, representing roughly $2.1 billion in economic impact. Additionally, each household in Madison County saved over $1,200 in taxes due to travel expenditures, and the industry supports over 22,000 jobs in the area.
